TikTok Shop Japan Fees 2026: Official Category Rates and Formula
TikTok Shop Japan currently applies category-based sales commission rates of 7%, 9%, 10%, or 12%. This page replaces our earlier article, which incorrectly described one universal rate and an outdated new-seller offer.

TikTok Shop states that commission is calculated for each item according to its category and then aggregated for qualified orders. The table below is transcribed from the official Japan fee FAQ revised on 2026-05-12.

Official commission formula
販売手数料率 ×（カスタマーの支払額 + プラットフォーム割引額 − カスタマーへの返金額 − プラットフォーム割引の返金額）
In the official partial-refund example, ¥1,020 customer payment + ¥50 platform discount − ¥510 customer refund − ¥25 platform-discount refund gives a ¥535 commission base. At 7%, the commission is ¥37.45.
Seller-funded discounts are not added separately in the published formula. Customer payment is defined in the FAQ as the tax-inclusive total of the product amount and shipping paid by the customer.
New-seller commission promotion
The current official promotion is 7% for 45 consecutive days for sellers who complete the mission of listing 3 products within 45 days. TikTok Shop says the discount becomes effective within 24 hours after the first order.
Eligibility and reward status must be confirmed in Seller Center; selecting this option in our calculator does not establish eligibility.
What the calculator does not assume
We do not insert an industry-average creator rate, advertising rate, shipping cost, product cost, tax amount, or an unverified payment-processing charge. Those values depend on the seller, contract, order, and Seller Center statement, so they remain user inputs.
